Guidelines for executives
Executives are involved with several groups of persons, whether shareholders, employees, customers, traders, competitors or society. As a result, the guidelines for executives have been laid down as follows:
Executive relationships with shareholders
- Executives should operate with loyalty and honesty.
- Executives should operate with caution.
- Executives should operate professionally.
- Efforts should not be made to accrue personal benefits or benefits for friends and relations from company information which has not been disclosed to the public.
- Confidential company information should not be disclosed to outside parties.
- No actions should be undertaken which could create conflicts of interest with the organization.
Executive relationships with employees
- Employees should be given fair remuneration.
- Efforts should be made to ensure safety of employee life and property.
- Employees should be treated with honesty in both rewards and discipline.
- Employees should be treated politely.
- Suggestions and comments should be listened to with reason.
- Employees should be made to understand the importance of following an ethical code.
- Employees should be encouraged to receive additional training in work-related subjects.
Executive relationships with customers
- Customers should be treated fairly in terms of goods and services.
- Information relating to goods and services should be disclosed accurately and in full.
- Customers should be allowed to make complaints concerning incomplete goods or services.
- Customer confidentiality must be ensured in order to prevent loss and annoyance.
- Efforts should be made to comply fairly with agreements and terms and conditions relating to customers.
- Where executives are unable to comply with such agreements or conditions, they should notify the customers as soon as possible in order to come up with a joint solution.
Executive relationships with trade partners
- No dishonest benefits should be requested or received from trade partners.
- Executives should act fairly in accordance with the terms and conditions relating to trade partners.
- Where executives are unable to comply with such agreements or conditions, they should notify the customers as soon as possible in order to come up with a joint solution.
Executive relationships with competitors
- Executives should act within the framework of good competition.
- Executives should not seek out confidential information from trade competitors by dishonest means.
Executive relationships to society
- Executives should not do anything that could damage the environment more than stipulated by legislation.
- Executives should act and supervise operations to ensure that they comply with the intentions of legislation and regulations.
